How much to pay for Shiv?

What would be a fair price to pay for a new 2012 shiv comp rival on craigslist? The bike appears to have all stock components and never been ridden? I have found these new for as low as $2585 from online dealers.

What would be a low ball price, a **fair **price, and a pay too much price?

are you buying from a dealer? if not, no warranty… keep that in mind. take a look at completed sales on ebay.

I am purchasing from an individual on craigslist. No warranty.

Not sure about fair market value used, since there’s so few of them out there. However, I picked my '13 Shiv Comp up brand new for $3k and they threw in an Adamo saddle, a basic fitting and some shop time to install Red components.

With that in mind, I would expect to pay less than $2,500 for a used one, otherwise you might as well go new. With new you get a warranty, a known quantity on the frame and probably free adjustments, etc on the bike.

A shop here had a year ender sale of the shiv comp for $2.5K so I wouldn’t pay more than $2-2.2K for it used without any warranty I guess.

3k is too much. You can get a used 2012 Shiv Pro for $3800-4k or a brand new 2012 Shiv Pro frameset for 2k.

Fair price, $2300.

My thoughts exactly. Thank you for the input.

where have you seen this price listed?

Unlisted… its called negotiation with the LBS.

Just a point of reference. The shop near me has them new for $2499.00.

The LBS here in NORCAL has it at $2499 as well.
