How many pull ups can you do

hey yall, how many pull ups can yall do. i can do 10. never do it just off of some tri training. if you do not know just do a quick test on some monkey bars! i am curious as to what a bunch of skinny and the rare buff beast triathletes can do.

Pronated? Supinated?

12 pro, 14 supinated. Used to do more but also used to exclusively lift before triathlon.

23, but I’ve been doing pullups religiously since entering the Marines in 2002. I probably work out my upper too much for a triathlete anyways.

I dropped pull ups for this…‘you WILL get ripped’.

used to be able to do 3x (15-18)range a few times a week… have not attempted a single one in the past five years…still think I could eeek out 10 cold turkey…but maybe just 2…will maybe have a few beers and give it a shot this week.

I can climb a fire pole in a two story commercial type building then come down inverted. And no i am not a stripper :0)

1 or 2.

I am at 24-26 but that is a true dead hang pull up with chin over the bar and absolutely no kipping. But i am training for SF so i am not very representative of the general tri population.

My trainer has me do this drill: 10 pull ups, drop and do 20 push ups, 9 pull ups, 18 push ups and so on down to 1:2. No rest in between.

Here’s what I look like:

sooo how much of that workout did you say you complete?

as many as I need to to finish an Ironman
.

Every other day I do 10 tricep and 5 bicep (full extension), so I could probably do 150% of that as a max is my guess…

2 normally, 3 if I nail my nutrition.

I’ve just started training with my personal trainer son.

I’ve been doing assisted chin ups for a while, with less assist as time goes on. I now do un assisted chin ups, but do them in bursts of 3. With 60 seconds rest, I can get about 10 reps of 3. Continuous, no rest…I get 3

My son does weighted chin ups. He’s up to 1 rep of 10, with 40kg weight added! You should see the vein pop out of his forehead! LOL

Thankfully he’s just starting riding, and on saturday I managed to crush him on a very hilly, very rough 55km bike ride. He now respects me almost as much as I respect him for his chin ups.

My routine requires total of 50 no matter how many sets it takes to reach that number. Could be 4 sets. Could be 12 sets. I don’t finish until 50. 35 overhand/ 15 underhand. Each set consists of as many as possible about 1min. rest interval. Usually 1st set is 13-17. Was at one time 20-22. PB was 23.
I have a pull-up bar in a park on my bike route home. Usually stop - complete the sets - ride last 8 miles home, then TRX for complementary reverse BO row exercises.
Love the Youtube homemade TRX. $23 and change. Hangs in the garage.

Wanna see some crazy strength, youtube… “bartendaz”

40-50 … Good form

You only need to be able to do 6 for SF. Maybe it’s time for you to take the plunge.
