How many hours per week?

How many hours per week are you doing right now? How does it break down into swimming, biking, and running?

Coming off of a strained hip flexor, last week I logged:

Swimming: 10 hours
Biking: 3 hours
Running: 3 hours
.

13 to 14 hours a week

My last 3 weeks
Swim…Bike…Run
3:45:00…26.9%…5:10:11…37.1%…5:00:07…35.9%…13:55:18

swim:does the vasa-trainer count?
pitiful

I generally come in around 6-8, 8-10, 8-10. Gives me a good balance and im getting my volume close to peaking. When the volume gets this high i usually also have to take one day off or do a swim only day to allow my legs to recover a little bit.

Currently at the end of week 4.5 of a 6 week block of 5 hours swim, 5 hours run, 5 hours bike per week. Looks easy on paper, but is starting to be a bit of a test. Started Jan. 2nd (wednesday) end feb. 13 (wednesday)

Swim M,W,F,S,S all 1:00
Bike T,Th :30min ea. rollers, S,S 2:00 ea. outside. It has been 2.5 hours each though so 6:00 bike every week so far as a hard group ride. Weather has cooperated well for me.
Run M-F 1:00 each =
14 workouts/week 7 days no days off for 6 weeks.

I’m recovering well and have made great improvements in swimming. 400 meter TT weekly test has gone from 6:20 to 5:51. Running 38-40 mi/week for 6 weeks has proven to be rather difficult for me. I am actually feeling better this week though. Interesting how we still recover without recovery weeks. I rarely go 6 weeks at a time without one.

Upcoming week is fairly big, and it looks like:

Swim: 5.5 hours
Run: 6 hours
Bike: 12.5 hours
Core/Yoga: 1.5 hours

Am just wrapping up a slightly lower volume week, with a long run this morning and a swim in the afternoon…with a nap in between.

Cheers,

It was a light week:

Swim: 37,000 yards
Bike: 920 miles
Run: 106 miles

I’m really hoping to kick some major hiney at the Anytown, USA sprint tri this coming September.

Swim 4 hours
Run 5-6 hours
Bike 5-6 hours

Total 15-16 hour a week
.

what?! he said WEEK not month.
my last week (I think of weeks Sunday-Saturday) was 46.5 mi run + 26,300 yd swim. No cycling - I had planned on one ride yesterday afternoon but was too tired to do it.

We are to assume you mean month? That’s like 60+ hrs for a week. I have difficulty absorbing that kind of volume in a week myself. ~per day swim 5.1k, bike130 miles, run 15 miles. Me thinks NOT!

I’m about to reach my larger base weeks so it’s been tough:
This week’s volume:
Run: 7 hours
Swim: 1.5 hours (last two weeks have been swim focused, not so much this week)
Bike: 7 hours
.

swimming 3 hrs
biking 10hrs
running 3 hrs on a running rehab program
.

C’mon TC !

You didn’t get my sarcastic “Anytown, USA sprint tri” reference??

It was my jab at those who are logging crazy high volume this time of the year and will burn out come April : )

I just got this nasty chest cold so it is zero, zero, zero. :o(

No, I didn’t pick up on the sarcasm… with Paulo gone I forget to keep my sarcasm detector on. But I knew there was something funny about you listing bike miles becuase I know where you live and there’s no WAY you’re getting that many miles outside right now

guess you didn’t go to Cape Elizabeth today? I didn’t either, too much studying to do. That said, I’m gonna go ride my bike

awww, feel better soon.

Last week I did ~15-16 hrs of training. It was ~5 swimming, ~5.5 cycling and ~5.5 of running. This week will be pretty similar. I’m doing a half marathon in a couple weeks, so after that I’ll probably increase my cycling a bit and cut back slightly on the running.
