How is Specialized on warranty claims?

I swore I would never own another carbon frame, but dangit that Tarmac makes me sweat like OJ under oath.

I have read so many great stories about Cervelo’s warranty claims, but have then read some less than glowing reviews of other manufacturers where they try and weasel out.

Is it a lifetime to the original owner?

Thoughts?

They’ve been kind to me, even when I wasn’t the original owner.

I think it helps to have a shop that backs you up, and that they have a good relationship with their warranty Rep.

x2 Support was good from Specialized on a bad rear triangle ( alum frame) for replacement, but the relationship w/my LBS made the difference.

I would be going to the Orlando dealer b/c the Spec. guys here are D O U C H E knobs. The shops have some decent guys, but the owners are tools and I refuse to give them my money. I do know the guys at Orange Cycle in OTown and they were great to deal with when I lived up there.

I have never personally waranteed a frame but a friend has without issue. This summer they replaced a set of Roval SL’s for me and were very good about it.

I had an issue with the rear wheel on my S-Works Tarmac SL3. My wheel was rebuilt in less than 48 hours.

Only heard good things about them for “warranted” failures/defects.

Downside is: Everybody has one.
No, not a warranty claim; the bike.

3 months ago I warrantied a Tarmac (3 years old) with a cracked frame. Got a 2010 Tarmac frame. LBS did all the work and from start (seeing the crack) to finish (having new frame arrive and get all components transferred over) took them 4 days. So, no complaints! Great service from the LBS and Specialized.

Very good luck over 10 years of buying various Specialized bikes and various other stuff.

I am glad I have switched from SCOTT to Cervelo. Very bad experience with SCOTT’s after sales service.

I broke the frame of my Specialized frame 5 years ago. I brought it to the local dealer(who I did not by the bike from) and I had a new frame within 3 days. No questions asked.

We do have a lifetime warranty on our frames against manufacturers defects for original owners. Keep your proof of purchase and if something comes up we will take care of you. Our warranty representatives are great guys. We really do strive to get you back on the road as quickly and painlessly as possible (as hopefully is evidenced by the other posters to this discussion). Let me know if you have any other questions…

They have always been great to me as well.
