How hard would it be to copy my fit from a DA TT bike to my Road bike with AERO bars and a FAST Forward seat post?

How hard would it be to copy my fit from a DA TT bike to my Road bike with AERO bars and a FAST Forward seat post? Want to make the road bike into a training bike for the computrainer and for bad weather days? How does one make the fit the same or is it impossible with the different geometeries?

Depending, you will probably need a custom stem - a VERY long and SEVERELY downward pitched - and also probably a different saddle.

A lot will depend on your position on your DA, but if I wanted to translate my position, there is pretty much no way I could get my road bike low enough or steep enough. Something to keep in mind.

Here’s the thing though, your body angles in a good road position are virtually identical to your body angle in a good tri position. I.e., riding on the hoods on your road bike is very similar to riding on your aerobars. The hip angles are not that different. I.e., the best thing to do is simply to “crouch” on your road bike if you want to get into a really aggressive hip angle.

I don’t see any real reason to go through what you’re describing. Generally speaking, I don’t ride my tribike at all for December, January, February. And even during the season I go back and forth between bikes during the week depending on the intensity of the rides.

Rappstar, do you have your road bike setup steep (75/76) too so that the training somewhat mimics that of riding the tri bike or do you sit in a more traditional (73/74) road position? I have been wondering if setting my road bike a little more steeper would help translate to riding the tri bike, however, I have also noticed that when I sit further back and employ more hamstring it helps my run fitness as well. Just wondering what you thought, thanks!

Thank you for the Reply Rappstar. I do alot of computrainer riding and dont want to be on the DA on the computrainer any more but want to be able to transfer the fitness. I guess the issue would be how close the two set ups are. I might try to find a cheap felt alum frame and build up for crappy days and the computrainer.
