How do I remove spokes from Zipp 60

I need to remove a broken hub from my rear wheel. It’s unclear how I do this. I thought I could use the little spoke wrench tool to turn what appears to be the base of the nipple (sticking out through the hub) but initially I wasn’t holding the spoke at all and it just starting twisting the spoke. I went and got some pliers to grip the spoke but it seems like it’s still trying to rotate the spoke in the pliers. I’m rotating the tool clockwise if you were looking from the hub towards the rim. I thought the nipple spoke interface was roughly where I sketched the yellow line.

Jokes aside, where am I going wrong?

Chances are pretty good you need new spokes anyway, so you coul just cut them. They do make a tool for holding spokes which might work better than your pliers

Also get some WD40 in there as the nipples can seize a bit.

You aren’t doing anything wrong, you just need a tool to hold the spoke.

Yes, seeing as thought 3 were already partially twisted, I just got cut them out. I saw later that I was holding them in the correct place and they did unscrew, but I needed them in a vice to grip (without the tool I have just been made aware of here).

Agree also that WD40 may have helped.

Thank you all.
