How do I fix this Garmin upload error?

Garmin express experienced some sort of error in my last activity upload. After the error it said to try again, but now it does not recognize that there are any new activities, and therefore will not attempt to upload the activities that I want. I tried using Strava to get them, but it would just search for new activities forever without doing anything. Then I downloaded Garmin Ant Agent to see if I could get them using that, but it would not pair with my 910xt for some reason. I saved a 10 second activity, and Garmin express uploaded that just fine.

How do I get these 2 activities off my 910xt now?

Right now (11:34 AM Pacific time) Garmin doesn’t seem to be working for uploading - at least for my Garmin 910

Check in a couple hours. Chances are high that it will show up as downloaded then. This has happened to me a couple of times when I go into the next morning and sure enough its now downloaded.

‘Transfer All’ from the device will get them off.

Is that an option within garmin express somewhere? Will it also download the other 1000 activities still on the watch?

I thought it was just my computer. I uninstalled and reinstalled garmin express twice. Sill site.

The Garmin Express has been a real pain when using the Garmin Swim and Vivofit. I have not had an issue with the Garmin Edge 800-yet. Not happy with the software.

+1, this has been my xperience in the recent past, and was my experience today.

By the way, if you are having problems with uploads, it’s almost always that connect is down. I google Garmin connect status and get to a screen that shows if they are having issues or not. I think they added this a month or two ago when they had a multi day outage.

I’ve had issues in the past where both Ant agent and Garmin express wouldn’t recognize a workout. However for some reason Traing Center will download the activity. Just export from training centre and import in garmin connect. Think I’ve had to do this 5 or 6 times in the past few years. Only once did I lose an activity.

Is that an option within garmin express somewhere? Will it also download the other 1000 activities still on the watch?

The option is on the 910 under History.

It will search the activities and upload the ones that are not already uploaded.

If you have that many activities on your device then you should remove most of them. Despite what Garmin say about overwriting old activities to make space for new, it never seems to work too well. Once your activity has been uploaded it is stored on your computer so no need to keep them on your 910. If you don’t feel happy setting ‘delete after successful upload’ to Yes in Garmin Express (or whatever the wording is) then do a manual delete at regular intervals.

In my experience, the less you have on the device the better.

Not a big deal, but now that uploads are working, rides and runs are no longer auto-titled.
