Anyone used their online shoe fitter successfully? I am a little weary to order because I feel the size they gave isn’t near my running shoe size. Should I listen to their advice?
Also, anyone used their sub-x series and care to comment on how well they secure the foot and drain?
I found Bonts to fit kinda weird. You also don’t really know about the fit until you finish the molding (their right-out-of-the-box fit feels really bad, probably since the carbon wraps around and is not just below your foot). This is a shoe I’d definitely get from a knowledgeable shop.
PS: It’s not at all unusual to have a very different size in running vs. cycling shoes. I’m a 9.5 in almost every brand of running shoe (Adidas, Brooks, Nike, Hoka, Scott), but a 42 (~US 8-8.5) in most cycling brands (Sidi, Carnac, Specialized, Shimano).
i used the mm guide - added whatever they recommend - and the fit after molding was like a glove. No spare room at all. No room for socks, an insole or anything - and not the easiest to get on in a race. I never could get the hang of getting my feet in the shoes on the fly as the opening was small - and got squashed by cycling on top of the shoes.

I would say it depends on the person… I’ve never molded mine. Even if the shoe fits right, it’s more like a hockey boot in the sense that it will feel better as it “breaks in”. Either way, because it is moldable, you can customize your fit quite a bit. The entire shoe is moldable, which is why you can’t leave your cleats on in the process.

I can’t disagree… while I think the sizing guide is pretty accurate, people are particular about how their shoes fit. For example, I prefer my shoes a bit on the tighter side, so if I’m recommended a 47, it may be the right size for the length of my foot, just not how I prefer it to fit.
In the past, I’ve found the shoes to fit half a size to a full size smaller than a Shimano and Lake, and about the same size as Giro. So, a 46 Shimano/Lake would size up to a 46.5-47 while a 46 Giro would fit a 46. Again, this also depends on personal preference but hope it helps.
I used the mm sizing guide with no problems. I am right on the top limit of a size, I ordered those. Took a couple of goes with heat molding to get them just right but now they’re fine. I usually wear a EU 41.5 in running training shoes, EU 41 in racing flats, EU 40.5 in the Bonts. If you are right on the upper limit it may be better to go up the next size, otherwise use their fit chart. The last time I molded them I wore 2 pairs of socks just to loosen them a bit as I was on the size limit.

You cycling shoe size isn’t going to be your running shoe size. It should be smaller.
I wear a 10.5 and my bike shoes are a 43.
The Bont shoe fitter told me I was a 8.5/42.5 and I used rough measurements so it looks to me like it is pretty accurate.
