Off to Stockholm for work, anyone recommend a good hotel with a lap pool?
Beautiful facility (and am sure plenty nice hotels close by), where I know pro Rasmus Svenningsson trains (since I coached him there)
I’m not sure you’re going to find a lap pool at any hotel in Stockholm. Hotels tend to be built in very old buildings. I was just in Stockholm for almost two weeks and the building my hotel was in was built in the 1690s. Some may have pools but they won’t be big enough to swim laps in.
David mentioned the Eriksdalsbadet. Seems to be a fantastic option. The potential issue with that is its location at the southern end of Sodermalm. That would be a bit of a pain to get to if you’re staying in Norrmalm or Ostermalm - which are the typical downtown areas to stay.
What part of town will you be working in?
Eriksdalbadet is pretty easy to get to by tunnelbana plus 100m walk down to the entrance. As usual in Sweden, not cheap but you can lounge around in hot tubs and saunas for as long as you like.
I travelled to Stockholm multiple times last year, never found a hotel with a decent pool.
Best option I found was to stay in the Clarion Hotel, about 200m walk from the Eriksdalsbadet as recommended already.
Another vote for Erickdalsbadet. One of the best pools I’ve ever swam in. Can even get in some starts from the Beijing olympics blocks. There’s an outdoor pool that’s open in the summer as well.
We ran there one day from downtown. It’s a quick, easy two mile run over and then run back. Other day took the subway there and was ~10 minutes. The Stockholm subway is spotless and extremely easy to use.
