of course or never ever?
Never, why would you?
when i was growing up and when we were fancy enough to be staying in a hotel with a mini bar, my dad treated it like it was mined.
DO NOT GO NEAR THE MINIBAR
that’s kind of stuck, but i imagine there are all kinds of people who go nuts on the minibar as part of the hotel experience.
Of course. That’s what expenses are for (when I was able to do that!).
Totally depends on location. Ritz Carlton minibar in Beaver Creek (if they have one), no freaking way. Minibar at some out of the way island beachfront bungalow resort in Thailand where every beverage in the minibar cost about 1 USD, hell yeah. All day every day. That was fun🤣🤣.
Using a hotel minibar is like going to a theater that allows outside food and still paying $10 for a pack of Junior Mints.
of course or never ever?
Depends on what is in it.
The only time I have ever used the minibar was at an all inclusive resort where it was free stuff.
Generally no, but there is one hotel loyalty group that gives a certain amount daily for use from the minibar, so I use that. I forget which one though - Kimpton?
Only on an expense account and when deemed “an emergency.†And yes, sometimes you just really need an emergency beer after a long day!
Never

The minibar at the Hyatt Andaz hotels are free. They’re not putting liquor, wine, or beer in there though. It’s soda, water, and snacks.
of course or never ever?
im gonna guess for 99% its a never…Which then begs the question, how long have the contents been in there before the 1% comes along and consumes … Is there a taste difference between a pint sitting in a mini-bar since oh…2018:) to one purchased today?
Sure. Sometimes I just don’t feel like leaving the room.

+1
At Cesar’s Palace I was there for a week for work and emptied the minibar to put food in there so I wasn’t eating out every night. They took that as me clearing out the minibar and it was $600 USD! I had it reversed when I explained, but it was a powerful lesson in how expensive those are.

Kimpton, but I think it’s status restricted now and a per-stay (not per-day) credit. They ran a status challenge and I qualified for it and I’m pretty sure that’s the last time I got anything from the mini bar (which also was behind the front desk and not actually in the room at that time).
Only in countries where a beer from the mini bar does not cost an arm and a leg.
of course or never ever?
Absolutely not.
Honour bar? Usually.
of course or never ever?
Generally, never. I usually ask for it to be emptied if I’m staying somewhere for more than a couple of nights so I can freely use it for any water/food I buy. Generally if I’m travelling with my wife for vacation we buy a bottle of duty free gin inbound.
Usually no. But if I pull in late, the hotel bar and closest packie are closed already, and I’m in the mood for a nightcap, then sure
