Is pool really considered a sport? Great movie of course, but I think there should be a different category of games..
My go to psyche up movie was the original “Roller Ball” with James Cann. Made up sport of course, but hit all the right emotions to be a great movie

I’m OK with it being an imperfect list. It started a good discussion, and there have been some great ones mentioned.
I’ll add Chariots of Fire. There’s the one scene with the theme song playing that is one of the most famous and memorable in cinema history. It won 4 Oscars including Best Picture.
Before I even clicked on this thread, I saw the title and knew it would be the case. So predictable.
And most notable lacking is Miricle on Ice, especially considering the recent gold medal 2 weeks ago.

I mean we can spend all day talking about amazing movies that should be mentioned that aren’t. But what about the ones that are on the list that shouldn’t be.
Bring it On?!?! WTAF. Hysterical movie, but should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as Greatest Sports Movies OAT.

I appreciate that Chico’s Bail Bonds just barely got a nod. Uhhh, how about Miracle, The Longest Yard (original w/ Burt Reynolds), and seconding The Natural?? And lots of other titles for consideration like Rudy, A League of Their Own, Karate Kid, Coach Carter, Rush, and Ford vs Ferrari
