Hi all,
Does anyone have intel on the Rocket X3? I’m hooked on the X2, but my pair is showing wear. I’d love to replace or upgrade, but I’m sol for the time being.

I’ve read there is a new colorway in the works and available soon - so maybe they have stopped the green one for now.
I did love mine, but every 70.3 so far in them, I get black nails and think its the reinforcement on the toebox being a little too stiff for my 2nd toe - so looking for alternatives sadly.
On Reddit (therunningshoegeeks subreddit) the rumor is that Cielo will replace it, and supposedly Bondi X is also getting an update.
The 2nd colorway has been available for sometime (Black/Multi). I hear you on the toebox - I got much better results after I replaced the Hoka laces with the Nike ones from an old VF1 pair… they hold my foot in place much more securely.
Resurrecting this topic, as the Rocket X3 is out!

However, it looks to have a stack height of 42mm in a size 10 (vs the IM legal 40). (from Google/AI, not Hoka’s site).
However #2, it is listed on the World Athletics list as approved:

I love my Cielo X1s, Cielo X2s likely aren’t a good fit for my wear patterns and current slower pace, so the Rocket X3 looks interesting - if legal.
Thoughts?
It’s legal. Ignore Google.
I should have also said reviews also indicate a 42mm stack height. I’m just glad it’s listed!
That explains why I just snagged a pair of X2s at 40% off.
Yeah. Keep in mind the measurement for legality is not at the same locations that most stores will do the measurement. Nor are they likely cutting the shoe apart in the correct size to measure.
HOKA is generally one of the best at getting most of their shoes through the approval process, even if it isn’t a pure racer.
