Hoka Rincon sole durability

So I love my Rincons but I’ve only had 215 miles on them and part of the outsole has already rubbed off which I’ve read has been an issue. Anyone know how long I can run in these shoes before they die. They still feel quite comfy.

thx

I purchased a pair of Rincons about a month ago and have about 160 miles on them and noticed the same thing. I was thinking about contacting HOKA because I am still inside the 30 day trial period. I was wearing Clifton’s before this and did not have this problem. I wonder if the sole material is different in this shoe?

Yeah, that sounds about right, 200-300 miles. I’m pretty light, so they last a little longer. You will notice they are lighter and no insoles in them. Material is super light, but not durable. That’s what you get and I’ve gone through 2 pairs already.

I got to 300miles in mine and they were starting to feel dead. New pair feel noticeably more comfortable.

I always got the impression that if you got past 250 miles on a Rincon you had to be 120lbs or less. It’s in the lightweight, cheap, trainer category.

It sounds like two things going on. If the parts of the sole with rubber on are wearing thin then maybe put a bit of something like shoe goo on them and get a few more miles. If the midsole is feeling dead then I’d chuck them and move on.

But, yeah, it’s famously not a durable shoe so you have to expect it not to last like some other trainers.

I normally replace my shoes at 300 miles but I have been living dangerously as my mileage has gotten pretty high.
My rincons I have been lazy to replace and I have got well over 500 miles on them. Just bought a pair of cliftons and yes they feel better, but not significantly. The soles haven’t looked great for a bit but I’m 175lbs so I’m pretty happy with how they turned out.

nice. those little plasticky soles pieces (not the foam) that makes up the outsole is what completely wore out on my shoes- at least the rear lateral one. One day I was running and thought i had a leaf stuck to my shoe. It turns out that it was the sole. Was that the case with you? I figure since the shoe still feels good, I can get a few more miles out of it. Shooting for 300 and maybe beyond

I did 500km’s on mine and the sole was completely worn out. I was a little disappointed because I like the Rincons but the sole durability is an issue. I have got the Clifton 6s now and they feel great.

Se can’t have everything yet. Light = Flimsy material.

I guess I’m in the minority, as I’m over 700kms on mine, and they are still in pretty good shape. I’m probably close to retiring them to treadmill shoes, but I still run outside in mine.
