That’s a lot of work there, must be a labor of love.. I just glanced at it quickly and saw one mistake, in the 1981 race you don’t have anyone over 59 in the race. I can guarantee you a guy by the name of Walt Stack was there and finished. I think he was mid/late 70’s at the time?? Where did you pull your old time stats from??

Possibly he fed the results webpage to some AI engine

Appreciate the compliment though I aint a machine, I might train like one at times. I had my own computer and writing programs, similar to Peter Heilveil and the computer he used in 1982, and you will need check how far back the “results webpage” as you say goes back and its about 50%

Hey Monty, yes lots of work, some of it has been more post processing the data, I have been using computers for almost 50 years & racing ironmans yearly for 36+ years.

To your Question, Walter Stack, only raced in 1981, he is in the male 66-75 original age group(that did change to the current in 1982), so he could be literally in 3 different age groups, just researched him, he was 72 years based on wikipedia, and they quoted 1982 which is incorrect, the Feb 82 went until 24:30:09 with 2 finishers and the October was just under 18 hours and in 1983 the 17 hours limit was enshrined with 16:58:07 was the last finisher, I believe Walter could be oldest by born date to ever finish the race.

There are other errors in the data, I have done extensive audits and found other anomalies, so trying to clean up the information when you have 84k of results is a huge job and I am still finding different issues and respectfully I wont say how I do it, done it, going to do it.
