Hines Ward is done with Ironman racing

Ward, now a fixture on NBC’s Football Night in America and Sunday Night Football, won’t be making a habit of swimming 2.4 miles, biking 112 miles, and running 26.2 miles consecutively. Earlier today, I texted him congratulations and asked when the next one will be.”

Never,” Ward said. “One and done.”

A legend indeed.

The sport will never be the same.

We’ll see…maybe, but women might say the same thing about childbirth immediately afterwards.

Also doesn’t mean he’s done with triathlon.

The sport will never be the same.

He will be sorely missed.

what size frame does he ride? I’ve got $500 that’s not doing anything.

Damn, I will sorely miss the Ironman Facebook advertising for Hines and muscle milk lol
.

I’ve said that 7 times now. Just finished number eight. This time I think its gonna stick.

Hines wasn’t endorsing muscle milk, he was riding for Chocolate Milk which has actual recovery benefits…

Criticize all you want… He performed well given his background and 10-11 months of training.

Not criticizing his performance by any means. Just got sick and tired of seeing the trillion advertisements and what seemed to be week by week reports on Facebook etc etc.

Well duh.

Ironman is a bucket list sport.

The WTC needs to grab another celebrity quickly before they have to resort to using the pros to advertise.

13:08 for Hines, and 14:04 for Gordon Ramsay. Had no idea the latter was participating, until I saw this pic.

That’s what professionals do. They work the social media and other outlets to get their sponsors exposure. He may not have been a professional triathlete, but he had sponsors and he got their name/product out there.
