High Arches causing long run bruised toes?

Never thought I had high aches, but had some custom insoles for cycling made and the fitter commented I have quite high arches and narrow feet. (news to me)

I wear Hoka, which prodominately are a narrow fit (good) but I do wonder if my high aches are causing my feet to ‘flatten out’ on distances greater than 20km and then causes my toes to smash into the front of the toe box?

For reference my dress shoe size is 41 - and I’m already up to 43 1/2 for running to try and releave the toe issue

but I wondered… would a custom running insole with arch support help?

On hilly runs a lot of people have more trouble with banged up toes due to shoes that are too large rather than those that are too small - unless you’re doing a ridiculous lock lace thing your feet will slide forward at the collar/ankle of the shoe, causing toes to smash into the end.

Try going down to your normal size, maybe in a shoe with a snugger fit around the ankle
