Does it work? Where would I get it? I’ve had a torn glute tendon and tendonosis in my other glute tendons all year. My hip doctor told me that it will heal but now that it’s been going on for about ten months, I think it needs some help. At 63 years old, my HGH levels must be pretty low. Maybe I could use a boost. I’m going back to the doc this week, and I’m thinking about asking him about it. What do you think? It worked for Andy Pettite maybe it will work for me.
I’ll just throw out the obligatory, “apply for a TUE, but expect to get denied”
Oh yeah and …duck! because the rock throwers will start slinging any minute now

And how much time did you take off to let it heal?

''And how much time did you take off to let it heal? ‘’
That was my big mistake. It happened in a mountain bike crash in January and I should have shut it all down but I was so excited to be back in action after my hip replacements that I kept pushing it. Then I finally saw the doc in March and he said it would heal. I was getting ready for American Zofingen, so I kept pushing it. Then the possibility of Devils Kitchen Du came up and I really abused it. At the end of August I finally stopped riding the bike, stopped swimming and running in the first week of September and I’ve only been walking every day since. I’m not thinking of using it to get my fastball back and I won’t be racing anybody until May. I’d really like to get this healed by the end of the year.

So you have abused it for 9 months and expect it to be fixed in 7-8 weeks? Sorry but no wonder it isn’t fixed! I wouldn’t have been surprised if it took a couple of months to fix if you hadn’t trashed. You need to MTFU and rest for a while longer. At 63 you are going to take a while to heal.
I heard HGH could be a real pain in the ass.
Sorry dude. I couldn’t resist.
Find a good PRP doc, it’s legal and will fix the torn muscle in 3-5 weeks.

Go to a PT like everyone else and try rehabbing it first. For all you know walking every day is just as stupid as everything else you’ve done since you injured it.

PRP is of questionable use in torn tendons.
John
You’re right, PRP is questionable on tendons as there haven’t been an
many if any “studies” done.
I’m here to tell you it works. The tendons and ligaments in my SI joint were torn from years of overuse and a car accident in 95’. The pain was unbearable getting out of my Suburban as I could hardly walk. A buddy of mine who’s a pro mountain biker told me to go see this Doc in Austin, so I did. After 4 weeks I got it back to 75%. 8 months later had it done again and am looking forward to running long again with no pain. My back feels better than it did when I was 15. Guys, it’s the real deal and NO, I’m not a doctor or work for one.
The only way it doesn’t work is if the Doc isn’t proficient with sonogram and misses the affected area. I have a friend who saw one of these less expensive PRP guys for his shoulder and the guy missed it.

+1. If you must take a PED just be a man and refrain from competition til you’re healed and clean.
That would be the plan. Just to use it for a short time right now while I’m not racing. I’m going to the doc on Thursday, I think I’ll try to be subtle and ask him if there is anything that can be done to encourage healing. I’m really tired of this.
hgh is not legal in or out of competition. it is a violation of the rules you agree to when getting licensed. now if you are not currently licensed, then…
if you are licensed, well then you know what you will be the moment you use it.

Dude - he’s your doc. I would just come straight out with it and ask him. Don’t beat around the bush. It’s not like Hank Schraeder is hiding under the Xray machine ready to bag and tag you if you express an interest in using HGH to heal your torn muscle faster.
Who’s Hank Schraeder? I don’t see this as anything illegal, immoral or against any rules. I 'm going to let the doc tell me what he thinks; HGH, PRP, LSD, I just want this thing behind me.
so what specifically are the mechanisms/pathways through which HGH operates?
for instance, i’ve got some autoimmune problems, including uveitis, which means that even after the ‘acute’ phase was treated (with buckets of steroids) i’ve still got vision problems because of all the inflammatory debris in my eyes. does HGH address inflammation?
everything i’ve read about says it’s a wonder drug, athlete or not. this guy said, of all the dope he took during his experiment, HGH is the one he’d want to keep taking:
http://www.outsideonline.com/fitness/Drug-Test.html?page=all
i’m entirely leaving aside the rules/ethics issues around doping in sport; that’s a well-trod path and my curiosity here is purely scientific.

I guess you are pretending you cannot read the list of prohibited substances in that case.
probably best not to post your intentions to dope on the internet, that is just asking for a surprise visit from the vamps as a good guess would be that there are those on this site that might turn you in.
you should do what you have to do, just be sure you are not licensed when doing it
I believe if you look it up, all you need to do is put your license in your wallet upside down and you are clear. Rules don’t exist for their own sake.
I am pretty sure the OP was trolling though.
Really? Take time off, get a Physical Therapist, put in the effort to repair yourself. Don’t rely on a drug to do it for you; that’s lazy. Even if you aren’t using it as a “performance” enhancer, you’re still using it to cut corners where others are actually going about it the honest way. Injuries are part of the sport; drugs are not.
