Parlee
Bob Parlee has trimmed the weight of his carbon frames to 820 grams (!) and has also come up with new molds so that he can do previously unattainable angles.

This new triathlon bike takes advantage of those molds to offer a steep seat angle. “I believe a triathlete will be faster with a light bike than with a heavier aero’-shaped one,” says Parlee.

does Parlee know of what he speaks?

I doubt that saving 200 or 400g on a frame will be better than improved aerodynamics. Especially in reference to triathlon or TT where the athlete rides on relatively flat roads at high velocities. For climbing stages during the tour I see the advantage, but what’s the point to design an 820g frame when you need golden shifters and bottle holders to meet the minimum weight requirement??

Did anybody else notice the disc wheel? Don’t want to sound too critical but this sounds a little contradictive…“I believe a triathlete will be faster with a light bike than with a heavier aero’-shaped one,” says Parlee. Then what’s the disc for?
