Very nice … how soon before the review? BTW how long is that stem?

Nice nike!!!

Do you want to swap it for my 2004 Bianchi Carbon - Chorus? :stuck_out_tongue:
Just kidding…or not!!

The stem is a 130. I haven’t written a bike review in a while. It would take a month or so to be able to write a good review. I haven’t even ridden the thing yet since I have the creepin’ crud.

Tempting offer…

I’d be curious to know how that bike compares to the R2.5. It looks great.

You’ve got to fix those skewers.

Without sounding too stupid, how long can a stem be before you start to seriously change the handling characteristics of a bike?

Ok, so why aren’t diapers under those wheels. i like it, i like it.

Hey isn’t that Mr. Chins SUV in the background?

He was in here earlier dropping off a frame.

Extreme bike porn. She dresses up real nice.

I run 120-130mm on my road bikes. If you go too short things can get a bit twitchy…

Yeah, I think I remember hearing that in the past. But is there a corresponding effect when you go long (i.e., drives like a truck)?

That’s a good question, and different people have differing opinions on this. This is how I figure it: Longer stem = longer steering lever. That may slow steering *actuation *but not sterring radius. Longer top tube (al-la, Jim Felt)= longer wheelbase (less turning radius) -OR- steeper head angle and shorter chainstays (less comfort).

I am a long torso fit, so I kind of buy into the Ernesto Colnago philosophy of running the seatpost near max and a 130 stem- if my position is right on a frame with that configuration.

One thing I noticed on a quick test spin, the front end on this bike is longer (I think…) and higher than my R2.5. I like the longer part, but not the higher part. Right now there is a spacer as a top cap under the stem- that is what came with it. I don’t have a flat top cap for the headset right now, so the handlebars are too high for my taste. I need a flat top cap for this FSA headset, then I drop the bars down a bit for a better position.

We’ll see, right now the fit is about 98% there.

Your saddle is too high.

Dang…

I’m in love. I’ve never been over-beholden to the cult of celeste…but this bike is calling my name…I can’t find a piece of it to really bitch about…right down to the classic bend bars…that bike is fabulous.

Tom, if this means the R2.5 is available on the cheap, I’d be interested in taking it off Mr Chin’s hands
