David K, I use the script BPM Inspector, easily Googled and downloaded for free.
It is not an exact science, since you have to click the mouse to the beat of your music. - Some people would do double or half the amount of click, depending on how they feel the rythm. Also - some drummers vary their beat a little during a song, and lots of songs have different breaks with different rythm. I try to pick the beat the majority of the song is in.
The point of the tread is not to argue what BPM a song have, but to be a resource for folks to find rockin’ songs to bike and run to.
Here is another top 10 for my “urban” rides:
How We roll - Big Pun f./ Ashanti - 90 BPM
C U when U Get There - Coolio - 90 BPM
#1 - Nelly - 90 BPM
Feel Me Flow - Naughty By Nature - 91 BPM
Triumph - Wu Tang Clan - 91 BPM
Pushin’ Weight - Ice Cube - 92 BPM
Ride - Redman - 94 BPM
Steppin’ It Up - A Tribe Called Quest - 95 BPM
Survival of the Fittest - Mobb Deep - 95 BPM
He Got Game - Public Enemy - 97 BPM
I like to have my mix go up slowly in cadence, and have some kind of inspiring lyrics (even if they might be meaning something different)
