i have been experiencing cramping in my hamstrings when coming off the bike in long course races. was wondering what could be causing this problem when i starting run, possible seat height has been moved or too forward on rails? my bike splits are still within range and not overdoing it as far as pace. could also be nutrition? i am 6 2, 175 ave but have been losing up to 7 pds in race over half iron distance. using accelerade and cliff shots hammer gel and some enduralytes. thinking i should go back to all hammer products like perpetium… any advice?
7lbs seems like a lot. I’m guessing you’re dehydrated.
"thinking i should go back to all hammer products "
Probably a good move. I believe Hammer recommends not mixing their products with simple sugar products. Try to contact Hammer to see if they can offer any insight. Yeah, they will push their prducts, but they also offer research you can look into and decide for yourself.

I do not think the problem is with the brand of nutrition products you are eating. I mean, not to put too fine a point on it, but that makes no sense. I don’t think losing 7lbs over a 4-7 hour effort is out of line for a 175lb. athlete.
It could be a problem with the amount you are eating and drinking, but I would look first at your bike position and pacing. Do you stretch?
