Help Picking New Training Wheels

I need help with suggestions on what wheels to buy. I have a pair of Bontragers Select wheels that are not so great and seem to go out of true a lot. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on good training wheels, for comparison purposes money is really not a concern. I am riding a Cannondale MS700 with 650s. I am about 130lbs and ride about 200-300 miles a week. I am mainly riding to come back quicker from a running injury so the wheels would be used mostly for training and maybe a random race here and there (olympic tris mostly). I am training on relatively flat roads, but occasional hill workouts. I usually ride at like 21-23 MPH. I guess that is all the information I can think of, thanks for your help.

Because you’re on 650s, I would just get Velocity Deep V rims and lace them to Ultegra or Dura Ace hubs. Nothing fancy but you’re just looking for training wheels and those will be cheap and more durable than just about anything out there. Mavic Open Pro rims would be fine too but the Velocitys are really cheap (I think Nashbar still has them for $10 each) more aero (though they’re still not a real race wheel by any stretch) and plenty strong.

You should be able to get the Velocity’s built up with Ultegra for under $200. Open Pros with Ultegra for a little over 200. Dura Ace would probably add $80 or so. There were some good deals on 650 Mavic CXP-21/105 wheelsets a while back. I don’t know if you can still find them and even if you can, it doesn’t sound like you care that much about fifty bucks and the deep-vs or open pros with ultegra or D/A would be nicer and probably hold up better.

I second the vote for the Deep V’s. You can pick up a set of them off EBay really cheap; there are always a bunch of them up for sale. I got mine for around $100.
