Help Picking A Wheel Set

Hi Folks,

I’ve been offered a very good deal on a couple of wheel sets. They’re a set of Bontrager Race X-Lites (the ones from a couple of years ago with the cut-outs on the rim like a Mavic Ksyrium) and a set of Velomax Ascent II’s. I can only use one set (and can barely justify to the wife why I need this) so I can only buy one set. They’re both new; the Ascents are current production. The price is good, but not good enough that I’d want to buy both and then bother to sell one set on e-bay, etc. So, which one would you take. Price is same for either.

Without a doubt…the Eastons.

I’d personally go with the Velomax wheels. I’ve been on the lower model Circuits for over a year and they have proven bomb proof. A training buddy races and trains on the Ascents and he isn’t a small man. I’ve personally not had to use their customer support, but anecdotal evidence has been positive in this regard.
