Help! Oversize pulley chain size

Hey folks!

Anyone with good experiences to share on chain size for ospw ?!

I read insteuctions about adding 2 links to your previous chain size, others to get new uncuted chain …

I am using mine with medium coil pressure.

Any help is very much appreciated!

Thanks
Leo

I have installed an oversized pulley RD but still use the same method of measuring my chain length. With the chain in the small/small cogs back and front, ensure there is sufficient tension in the RD arm (which is sprung) to keep the chain from being loose and not touching the upper pulley wheel cage. Mine leaves the RD arm in about the horizontal position when in the small/small cogs. I run a compact crank so cannot vouch for the standard crank or mid compact.

I’ve also found the small-small method to be best. I put the b-tension screw in a “medium” position or a position that I think is in the ballpark of whats it gonna be in the end. Basically you make sure that you have some leeway to increase tension if needed. I then literally check whats the longest chain that will just barely pick up the slack from the chain and prevent the upper pulley from riding the smallest cog. I will then go ahead and install the chain and check b-tension/pulley cog distance in relevant gears.

Instructions in my ceramic speed set said that the longest chain that still shifts ok has the least friction loss so I think this method is best.
