I’m in need a of a new, non-athletic swim suit and I’m having a hell of a time finding a good top. I don’t like halter tops as they kill my neck. Nor do I like tankinis. I’m a D-DD, so I need good coverage and support as I will be wearing it around my co-workers and don’t want to be showing too much, but also don’t want a grandma suit.
Any suggestions as to brands? I need it by a week from this Friday.
I’m a D…to be honest, I like tankinis b/c I do feel enclosed, so to speak.
I get swimsuits sometimes at MEC, so I was flipping through REI (I’m assuming you’re American?) and found this swimsuit top: http://www.rei.com/product/780402 What about something like that? It looks like fairly good coverage in the front and sides, and it’s a nice solid back too (enough to support).
That, or since you’re not swimming it, I got a great swimsuit (not great for swimming lengths though…I got out of the pool once and was like ‘why are the (male) lifeguards staring at me? OH’) at the Gap, and I got it this time of year on sale for $9.99…might be worth checking out.
I’m a D too and I feel your pain (literally and metaphorically speaking). Those types of suites are near impossible to find. Last swimsuit season I actually found a few at Dillard’s. They had a big tag on them that said D…basically they were sized the same way, they just had bigger cup sizes.
I ordered one from Athleta last night and found a Jag suit at TJMaxx today. The Jag top fits great, the bottoms not so much, I have too much muffin top hanging over… That’s the other swim suit issue, finding bottoms that aren’t teeny tiny nor too huge. The last time I bought a casual suit was about 8 years ago, and that’s not for lack of looking and trying on tons of them.
And no, Eric, I don’t like the attenion. I’d much prefer to have small aerodynamic boobs…
Venus swimwear is the best. I’m a size 2 with D top so I have a really hard time finding anything that will work but they have a lot of suits with good support.
I got the bra cup twistini in a size 3. The site said to order up as it runs small, but I didn’t and it fits just fine. I also got the hot dot shirred bottoms, really cute; not too big and not too small.
Bathing suits, also known as swimsuits, are worn for many purposes. Basically, for the general public, they are meant to avoid nudity or exposure when going for a swim or sun-bathing in public places like beaches and public swimming pools.http://www.verysexybikini.com/

Fascinating. “Bathing Suits” you say? Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering what those things were. Hopefully they’ll catch on. I hate seeing nudity and exposure when I’m in a public place.
