Help Me Upgrade from Profile Aerolite Aerobars

Last year I rode Profile Aerolite aerobars mounted on a Visiontech basebar. I had the armrests as low as I could get them on the bars. I like the “Ski” bend end of the Aerolites.

I use an adjustable stem pointing slightly below level (71 degrees or so). I have the aerobar bar ends about 5 cm’s apart.

I like the Aerolites but want to:

Lower the bars closer to the basebar - Aerolites sit pretty high.

Get my elbows more in line with my hands - Can’t be done with Aerolites.

I really like the Profile T2s but do not want the flat S bend ends.

Suggestions? Suggestions that are economical and will not cost more than my frame?

Thanks.

When switched from aerolites on my old bike I went with Vision Tech. I really liked them them but they were a bit too low for me on that frame. They might be something to look at for you.

Thank you both. How do the elbow/arm pad areas compare? I just bought some CeeGees pads and like the Profile system with the Cee Gee pads. I guess I could get the Cee Gee pads for the Visiontechs.

Thanks.

Are you saying you want your elbows in closer? If so you may not want to do that as John Cobb and others say to have the elbows out a little so they ‘hide’ the knees from the air.

.

I have a set of Visiontech Carbon Pro Ski-Bend aerobars size 250mm length for sale if you are interested.
They are great bars and good if you want the armrest low.
With the 12.5mm spacers the armrest plate are about a cm above the basebar.

Let me know what you think.

Its not so much that I want my elbows to be closer its that I would like my hand to be more in front of/in line with my elbows. The Aerolites will not let the elbows get behind the hands. David K
