Tonight i was adjusting my seat post during a ride, and the bolt broke. Are these standard, ie should i be able to walk into a bike store and buy a new one, or are the proprietary (sp?) depending on the bike? (I have a 2002 guru chron’alu)

You should be able to easily replace it. Watch the torque…
I broke mine about a month ago and had the same thoughts you do. Went to the LBS and it cost me $5 maybe.
