Ok so first time considering electronic shifting and the upgrade would be for my 56 cm P2 and would be Ultegra Di2.
Other than the obvious Ultegra components like derailleurs and battery + mount etc i’m looking for ST wisdom in understanding the non Ultegra (ie the 900 series components) I believe I require the following - please correct me where i may be in error -
ST 9071 for the base bar which would be both brake lever and shifter
SW 9071 for the bar end shifter
SM EW 90 F for the front Junction Box
SM JC 40 for the rear Junction Box which is for external Mounting under the BB
From what i can find the base bar brake / shifter is not yet available and neither is the bar end shifter? if that’s correct any eta on availability?
Finally could use some advice on the wiring lengths
I was thinking as follows:
Rear der to junction - 500mm
Front der to junction - 300mm
Junction A to junction B - 950mm
You have all the right part numbers that I am aware of. And you are correct in saying that the bar end and good shifters are not yet available. They say the bar ends will be available late December at the earliest, or more likely early 2013. Just double check that the front junction you have listed is the 5-port and not the 3-port (I think F is the 5).
As far as the wire lengths, I have no clue for your frame. Just make sure you have more than you need instead of just barely enough! Also, you may need some additional wires to go from the frot junction to the bar ends and hood shifters.

You’re certain you want SW 9071 for bar end shifters and not SW-R671 ? The one you specified is for controlling only rear derailleur (one button per extension), and is not available yet. SW-R671 is like normal controls, and is also already available.
i’d like the two button for both front and rear derailleur - thanks for catching that - exactly why ST rocks!!! - so currently it’s just the basebar brake lever / shifter combo that’s not available assuming i get the correct bar end shifter?
For wiring is it a case of simply measuring your frame and adding 5% kind of thing or am i missing something?

My Google-fu is not good enough - can you help me with a link to where the R671 is available? I’d love to buy some this weekend but I can’t find any in stock.
That I can’t help you with. I checked a few european web shops (I’m in Sweden), and all claim to have it “within 3-7 days”, i.e. not in stock but at the supplier. But the shifters are at least released as opposed to the one-button version.
