Help calculating gear ratios

hey guys, wheres a website that can help me calculate/understand gear ratios. As in is 39x17 easier than 53x25.

www.analyticcycling.com
.

39/17 = 2.29

53/25 = 2.12

Higher gears are harder. I vote for 39/17 being harder.
