Help! BMC TT01 vs. Kestrel 4000?

So I am stuck between the Kestrel 4000 with the Sram Red set up, or the BMC TT01 with ultegra. I can get either bike at a similar price. What would you do?

BMC. No good reason. I just like the BMC better.

I vote Kestrel. It’ll be easier to get your fit dialed in, and they have really good/reliable customer service. Plus red > ultegra.

That is a good point, I didn’t think about the fit. Plus the integrated brakes on the BMC kind of scares me.

If its the new TT01 then I’d say that if it fits.
The 4000 looks good though.
Either way you’re golden.

I have the Kestrel 4000 would definitely recommend it! They’re hugely supportive of triathlon, and I’ve out out the best splits of my career on it. Steve is a great guy, and helps out his athletes endlessly.

the kestrel has custom brakes too.

I think the fit is the biggest thing here. They are two fairly different bikes in terms of fit.
The Kestral has the advantage of having more sizing available and the actual in-store availability, where the BMC wont be out until January-ish. Regular front brakes do make it easier to wrench, but the hidden/tucked rear brake is likely just as annoying as the integrated ones on the BMC.

On the other hand, I would argue the BMC is more bike. Other than the (red > Ultegra) argument, the integrated front end on the BMC offers a cleaner set up and the adjustability lacking of other super bikes with the normal stem mount for any aerobars (save those with intergrated stems like the ventus). Yes the brakes are integrated… but it makes it cleaner/faster.

But as always: fit > flair

Pardon my ignorance, but, I am obviously missing something here. Are we talking new?

A Kestrel 4000 Pro SL w/ Red can be had for about $6,500. I thought the BMC TTO1 frameset sold for close to $12k and was (at least somewhat) customizable.

Obviously, I am missing something. Please set me straight.

Nitpicking, but I think you mean the new BMC TM01. The TT01 is a whole different animal…

Wow my bad. Your definitely right I meant the TM01. I work at a tri store so I can get a discounted kestrel4000 for about the same price as the TM01. Look wise I like the TM01 but performance wise I have no idea.
