Height vs wingspan

Holiday time killer. Post your height, wingspan and 1500/1650 PR (for 2011)

H 6’
W 6’4.5"
2011 PR 17:23

12 inches. No, seriously.

H: 6’2"
W: 6’5.5"
PR: embarrassingly slow, but working on it :).

You’ve got pretty gangly arms too eh? What do you weigh? Do you have an insanely hard time finding shirts with long enough sleeves too?

H: 6’3
W: 6’0
PR: 22:01

Never swum on a team, in masters, or competitively. Self-taught. I’ve always wondered how much morphology mattered for swimming, and given that my bike fitter proclaimed I have ‘freakish’ dimensions (short legs, short arms long torso), I’ll be interested in the discussion in this thread. Thanks for posting, even if it is a time waster…

H: 5’ 9"
W: 5’ 10"
1500 meter PR: 4:30
oh wait do you mean swimming?
Then its about 24 minutes :frowning:

usually around 175… trying to be 170 or a little less for race season

Height: 5’8"
Wingspan: 5’10"

Have been so burnt out of swimming since high school so only swims longer than 1K for time are from races…
2011 (Wildflower Olympic): 18:38

This concept has a name: “ape index”. It’s your wingspan minus your height. (mine is + 2 inches).

Height: 6’
Wingspan: 6’4"
weight: 175
1500 PR: 19:36

im a swimmer
.

How about Michael Gross former West German gold medalist: 7 foot wingspan, 6’7" height:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Gross_(swimmer)

For myself height is 5’6", wingspan is 5’11"…no point even posting my 1500m time as I’ll get laughed out of ST…(you guys can just check my swim splits for laughs)…the only similarity I have to the albatross is the delta between height and wingspan

1500PR – no idea

Height: 6’5"

1500m: 22:30 (could be faster if I ever swam more than twice a week)

He was one of my swimming idols.

H: 5’10"
W: 6’4"

This arm span has actually helped me in many sports, including basketball for my height.

PR: 2011, none, was playing different sport before coming back to tri’s

this is also known as the ape index in rock climbing.

I am 6’2 height
6’4 wingspan

swim times are not available since I was out of swimming.

H: 6’0"
W: 6’3"

I haven’t done an actual 1500 in years but I would guess around 21 mins
.

Height - 5-10

Best 1500 of 2011 - in pool … 30 min not including 10 sec breaks after each 500

Yeah, Gross was a pretty cool swimmer…unforunately for me, I’m not using my relative wingsan that well in swimming and it just increases the size of my “scoop” in the aero position while on the bike…basically my torso size is stupidly short for the length of my legs and arms. Would be good if I was a rock climber.

H 64"
W 66.5"
