Heelys on run portion

Is it against the rules to wear Heelys (the shoes with wheels in them) on the run? They are technically shoes I believe.

The rules don’t say anything what you can wear on your feet (although some races explicitly disallow bare feet.) The rules do say “A participant must run or walk the entire portion of the run course.” I would think any self-respecting official would disqualify anyone coasting along on Heelys, even for a couple of feet.

I can’t imagine it would be safe or effective to run in those things for any real distance.

Do they even make them in adult sizes?

They’re pretty hard to find. Can you imagine someone coasting by you in a race?

Yes, but they are a lot like spandex pants; Just because they make them in your size doesn’t mean you should wear them!!

I was coasting around in the house on some one evening and fell, landing with my left shin/calf under me and breaking my tib/fib! yes it was embarrassing telling the paramedics, dr.'s, nurses, x-ray techs, ortho, etc. etc. etc. how it happened!

It’s obvious you guys haven’t tried them. They require more effort than running.

I would deffinately wear them if one could also be pulled by a golf cart outfitted with a margharita dispenser
.

Technically they are more of a rollerblade/rollerskate.
