As the title says, the heel loop tore off one of my Sidi T2 shoes. It came off at both stitching locations suggesting that the stitching compromised the integrity of the fabric used. Does anyone know of a method of re-attaching the loops? I was thinking some sort of glue but do not know what would be safe with this type of fabric.
Cheers.
Take it to your neighborhood shoe repair guy. I’ve taken my cycle shoes in for similar sorts of repairs. They have the materials, sewing machines, and knowledge you need and it shouldn’t cost much.
How old are they? Try calling sidi. They may warranty them.
As the other poster said, get thee to a cobbler.
Same shit happened to both of mine (the silver snake ones). Time for a cobbler.
Thanks for your responses.
I have sent an email to Sidi to ask about warranty and failing that, what they would suggest I do in terms of repair.
I probably will end up taking this to the local cobbler but I am concerned that he won’t be able to restitch the loop without having the stitching go through to the inside of the shoe. I want to avoid this because I wear these sockless for most races and don’t fancy having stitching potentially rubbing against my heel.
