HED Stinger 90 and Vittoria Corsa EVO CX question

Hi,
I got the setup of HED Stinger 90 (rear) and Vittoria Corsa EVO CX.
I have chosen this tire after lot of searches, and found that it is very popular here in ST as well.
I realized, that tire width is in issue in case of HED Stinger 90, but it is stated on their website that 21-23 mm is OK - so this tire with its 21mm width should work as well.
But:
After I have mounted it, I realized, that the arc of the tire is smaller than the arc of the rim. Because of it, while the tire is adhere well in its center, does not adhere in its sides, moreover there is a very small gap between them there.
Maybe it is not an issue from the adherence, as it seems to be strong (at least I hope it remains during high speed cornering as well…), but there is an other issue: during cycling, I continuously hear a rustling sound. As I realized, it caused when the rim and tire - under my weight - touches and looses each other in every wheel circle, where those above mentioned gaps are on the sides.
I hope it was comprehensible…
So my questions are - especially for those who has this wheel/tire combo:

  • Did you face this issue as well? If yes, how did you solved?
  • Maybe I should use bigger volume of glue/adhesive?
  • What kind of glue/adhesive do you use?
    In general:
  • Has this issue any affect on my wheels performance? I mean, whether it is a new resistance factor (which eliminates those precious seconds what I won by using this good RR factor tire  )?
Your opinion/experiences are appreciated, thanks in advance,
    Géza

I run a 60 front and a 90 rear, the 90 definately has a deeper setting. I use a Veloflex Carbon 22m tire and has this same appearance but I do have full contact of tire/rim. Not sure if the 1 mm helps with this or not.

jpb0009, thanks!

Others?
Stinger 90 users, please share your experiences!

Geza… My kid is on his second year using those wheels. He is using the same tires but I need to check the set up closer to give a comment.

I am sending you a PM with an e-mail from someone at HED that I am sure will solve for sure your doubt.

Good luck.

Sergio

Please send to me, as well. I’ve got a new Corsa EVO CX waiting at home to be mounted on my Stinger 90 this weekend.

Thanks!

I had the exact same problem. Stinger 60 and a Corsa Evo 21mm mounts perfect but the 90 is suspect. I spoke to Hed, they agreed, so I bought the 23mm width.
