Hed S-Bend Extentions

Anyone know where I can buy just Hed S-Bend Extensions only the bars? What would be the cost? Does anyone know if there a wait when ordering through HED? Thanks,

Mike

Check out tri-zone. They just got a shipment recently and ~may~ still have some…

Most places, if not all of them, are going to be sold out and waiting for their next shipment.

Hi, I ordered mine through LBS, who ordered from HED, and the wait was 4 weeks(the carbon ones). I mounted them to Profile Alum-X bars and the fit was nice. One drawback was that the only place to mount on Alum-X is under the base bar, and this makes them way to low in relation to the pads. If you tilt the base bar up it also tilts the armrest up, due to the oval base bar and the c-clip mounts. So…we took the standard spacers(which I wasn’t using) cut them down to a 3mm shim, and then ground a bevel on one side, placing them between the armrest and bracket, and created a level armrest and left the s-bend extensions at a 2 degree rise.

If you want the alloy extensions, they are readily available, both from Hed and retailers.

Are the profile X bars have the same clamps as the Profile Jammer bars?

No, they are very different. The jammer is a true clip-on, with the armrest mounted to the extension, with the base bar underneath that…so the height shouln’t be a problem.

The Alum-x has the armrest mounted to the base bar(flat), with the extension underneath.

You should do fine. I would just get the alloy s-bend, quicker to obtain and almost as light.

Are you looking for just the s-bend extensions?

Did you get the low or high rise version of the extensions? If you got the lower ones, that would explain the issue with them being too low. The higher version made to work on the Hed bars with a riser kit might help (unless you’re already using the higher version.)

This could become an ebay item, as some hed bars are shipping with both extensions, and those who decide on going with the lower version might be selling the leftover higher rise extensions. I’ve seen some listed, and am also considering doing the same with mine.

I am looking for just the extenstions, and as if I am correct there are two kinds, a steeper sloping s-bend and a less steep? I would preffer the less steep.
