I’m looking to buy race wheel in the next few days. I have 1/2 IM in Sept, and will have full IM next year.
Currently riding specialize SL1 - but will plan to buy a tri bike in October.
I’ve been looking at comparison data for both wheels and really didn’t find any good recommendation. I was hoping to hear some experience or opinion from this forum.
Basically I want to see if there are any significant performance advantage of the ZIPP Speed Shop4 compared to HED Jet60 C2. Because there is big gap in the price between the two manufactors.
Basic comparison
ZIPP SpeedShop 4 Clincher
58mm deep
768g(f) 892(r)
$945(f) $1155(r)
HED Jet60C2
60mm deep
720g(f) 932(r)
$695(f) $795(r)
Not much, if any significant, perfromance differences as far as aerodynamics. There may be an edge on rolling resistance for the C2 rim Jet.
FWIW, I went through a similar process a month or two ago and got the HED wheels.
“I think also based on what level of competition - I’m no where near the top in the AG - so I think HED is the way to go…”
Apparently you missed the part where the women’s IM World Champion rode Jets to victory in Hawaii last year…otherwise I’m not sure how you arrived at the conclusion that the Heds were for lesser athletes than Zipps…
