As I am putting my Hed 3 wheel on my bike I noticed that the spokes seem to have a trailing edged to them. It isn’t very noticeable but if you run your hand across it you can feel the profile. I am just imagining this or are they made to spin in one direction?
They are made to spin in one direction.
Yes, the more rounded side of the spoke is the leading edge. But I have read about a certain 7 time TdF Champion, 1 time 3rd, that would run it the other way. Can’t remember if that was a one time snafu by the bike tech or not. Can’t imagine it was an accident with the reputation LA has about the details. Hopefully someone on ST can elaborate.
there’s a blunt (wider edge) and a thinner (narrower // sharper edge). blunt edge should hit the wind first- just like a plane wing (blunt/wider to taper)- or a cervelo seatpost, etc…
I believe when positioned correctly the valve opening faces the drive train side, right side of bike.
