Does anyone know if Hed offers a replacement deal on a Hed-3 front wheel? If so how much?
If not does anyone have a big hammer that they’ll loan me so I can true it myself?
When I crashed mine last summer and checked, it would be $387 to replace it. It is a HED 3 650 clincher front. I decided to keep riding it (it wasn’t cracked too badly) and I’ll probably buy a used one to replace it eventually.
If you crashed it then I guess it’s a different deal, but I sent mine back because it was out of true and had a very slight hop to it and they turned around and sent me a brand new one. They were great, kept me up to date on what was going on and all I ended up paying was shipping back to them. I am so happy to have both my wheels right now, I can hardly stand it.
Is it a “crash” replacement or “out of true”? Crash replacement, call HED (651-653-0121) & talk to Tim. If out of true, it’s likely the shims have shifted for some reason. In three years in Canada, I have yet to see this happen, but I hear that it is possible. If a service/truing issue, I would suggest that you call HED & talk to Chris.
I have had very few service issues & the ones I did have were dealt with in a timely, effective & fair manner.
