Hey, as the subject states I sweat massive amounts. I have the oakley radars which do a good job with sweat but I need to back it up with good headbands. I am looking for any suggestions of good headbands, and visors with a thick material for absorbing sweat. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Halo.
Headsweats
.
Check out www.bondiband.com I find them to work better than any hat or visor I’ve tried and as a bonus you can wear them under a helmet or hat.
I think of myself as a heavy sweater. I bought a nike dry fit visor at dicks sporting goods and I haven’t had a drop of sweat drip down into my eyes yet.
I can even dump water on my head and it still keeps it from dripping into my eyes. Just not a lot.
Since visors are only about 20 bucks it doesn’t hurt to buy a few to try them out.
I am a very heavy sweater. I have used the halo for a few years, but found that sweat doesn’t evaporate rapidly enough and ultimately the sweat ends up running n my eyes - not good cycling in groups because at times I could not see at all. I went to the Gutter, which has no cloth, just channels the sweat saway from the eye area such that it can run down further back. Great result, glad to have found it.
I’ll second the vote for Headsweats. If I don’t wear one, I’ve got salt in my eyes for the rest of the day starting at about mile 3. Works great. They’re also relatively inexpensive. Have had one visor from them for 5 years now.
While I do not have a massive head I feel that during runs head sweat visors always get right. I need adjustability.
I’m the same as you. Big time sweater, super salty (burning) variety.
I too use Radars, which are nice b/c they don’t fog or get sweat grit on them, but the real key is the Halo headband.
I never run without it. It’s just a nice wicking fabric band with a rubber line on the inside that forms a seal to your forehead, stopping sweat from dripping down.
I get mine at REI for like $12. They are incredible.
halo for me. Can’t stand running without it. I sweat something awful, halo solves my sweat induced blindness.
Halo. There really is nothing else IMO.
X2 on the Sweat Gutr. Way better than the Halo, in my experience. I don’t use it on the run, my Zoot and Nike visors do well enough job there. On long hot rides, the Halo would wet through and it was like I wasn’t wearing it. The Gutr works way better, as it can’t wet through.
