HeatTech Baselayer Run and OD Road bike saddle position

Hi everyone. I have two questions now. First will be, Can I use Heat Tech as a base layer? and Second, should my saddle be in a forward position on a road bike for OD?

Firstly regarding heattech. I use to live in a tropical region but have recently moved to Japan. Its my first winter season training and Im feeling the cold. I have searched online and want to know more about baselayers. Cottons is a no-go for winter running and cycle, but have anyone tried Heat Tech from uniqlo? They claim to be NOT cotton but I have read somewhere it a derivation from cotton. Im confused. Should I wear those to run?

I have recently stopped doing Long distance triathlon and going to focus on Olympic Distance. Should my saddle be in a forward position to save my hamstring for my run like how I did for my Long Distance? OR OD races are sufficiently short to overtrain your hamstring to endure through the bike and run with a rear saddle position?

I’m also curious about Uniqlo Heattech as a baselayer – I’ve got some that I wear as underwear to the office and it feels so nice. Wondering if anyone has experience using it in vigorous outdoor sports in cold weather.

Bumping this question about Uniqlo HeatTech as a cold weather base layer. I’ve tried it in some training and it’s been OK but wonder about other experiences.
