for the people using heat shrink tubing instead of bar tape, are you using it on just the extensions or also the base bar? i’m not sure it’s tacky enough for the base bar so I’m curious. also, which diameter are you buying?
I used it on both. But my current basebar has the upturn at the end. Dunno if it will be OK for a straight basebar or not.
It sucks. Use racket or bat tape instead. Or maybe silicone self fusing tape.

I find it really jolly good.
What kind are you using?
Try using the fishing rod heatshrink, it has a grip surface on it.

How do you get it off?
A razor blade is all that’s needed. It doesn’t stick, just srhrink and grip tightly.

If it’s this stuff, I found it to be abysmal. Slippery surface and wouldn’t even stick to the bars (would rotate).
Huh. Yep, that’s what I use. I like it alot. To each there own, I guess.
What size did you get? I mean it obviously doesn’t rotate on a fishing rod if you have the right size.
I’m curious as i ordered this stuff but it’s still on its way from (China???).
If you are going over bare 22.2 mm tubing then you need the 30mm stuff. The 40mm won’t shrink enough to be tight. Even thought the hs is listed as 2:1, without a good heat gun you’ll never achieve that. If you are concerned about slip, some double stick tape on the bars before shrink should do the trick. I didn’t need any. I I think I used the 40mm stuff on my extensions with the shifter cables.
Well then the 22.2 mm (which now that I think about it makes sense that it would be too small to go on outside) stuff I ordered will likely be worthless!! And don’t think I want to wait another 6 weeks for another order.
The link I posted should be prime one day shipping.
Silly idea, but what about golf club grips…
Of course, Amazon…I had looked before but couldn’t find good pricing. Thanks.

Yip that’s the one.
Get it up to 90-100deg, it shrinks fine.

Deg C, that is.

Will the 30mm stuff stretch over di2 brake levers and shifters? Or does this stuff need to be put on before any brakes/shifters installed?
Thx!
If you are asking me…
I have no clue. My bike is mech.
