Heart rate monitor and wireless computers

I was thinking about trying a cateye wireless 7 computer. Is there a problem with using a heart rate monitor (polar A5) with a wireless computer?

I just installed the same wireless computer and rode this week with my Polar 610i with no problems. The only difference is that the 610 has a coded chest transiever where the A5 doesn’t but my guess is that you won’t have a problem.

I have used the 610 (coded) with the Cordless 2 model and at times suffered from some interference. Then again I have also suffered interference since going to the Astrale so it may have been from external factors (nothing is 100% interference proof).

It was a while ago since I switched computers so I can’t tell you for sure how often this happened but I do recall thinking about it (and getting angry!) a few times.

Go with a Sigma. I used a Cateye cordless until I discovered that the newer wireless Sigma models don’t interfere with heart rate monitors. My HRM is a low-end A3 which does not have it’s own private signal & it doesn’t get any interference from my Sigma wireless so, go to excelsports.com and look one up. I hope this helps.
