Has the Slowtwitch heart turned black and died?

Have you read this thread?

If not…do so. Then, as in the the manner of the long standing history of Slowtwitch - help out. Even if you dont need a raffle entry for a race or dont want to come to the midwest…send a few bucks to help out.

In the past ST has paid for medical bills, bikes for veterans, bikes for crazy folks, pet supplies and on and on. One of note was the upwards of $2000 raised in the memory of the son of an ST member. I will start…I am going to give at least $100.00 to the medical bill fund.

I have send the OP of the above a PM about helping out more. Given the right circumstance I may be willing to help ALLOT more. But, it is time that you all stand up and help out. Send $5.00 or $10.00 via PayPal…it all adds up folks. One of our long time members has fallen - we can offer a hand up and show the world that we are infact a “Peaceful Tribe”.

Chip - I’ve helped out on multiple occasions.

But … link is not working

Try it now, it is on the main page - post from Instigator about raffles for IL/WI races.

No disrepect to the OP…I dont think ST needs a raffle for $10.00 a person, I think we are all kind enough to just send money.

(that being said I did offer free entry to the Rockman events as well).

Chip- I would love to help out, however at the moment my wife and I are dealing with a major health issue and mounting medical bills ourselves. I wish the best of luck to the fellow STer.

Darren Dondero

I’ve donated when i can over the years.

Every time one of these threads comes up, i can’t help but feel that by sending money, i’m also helping to prop up broken US medical system. Generally, i’ll make a comment about it and some autonomous ST sniper will accuse me of politicizing the issue, being a liberal socialist or whatever. What better time is there to think about such things?

Maybe along with your donation, you might consider writing a letter to your local representative.

I don’t think that’s the case, Chip. I hadn’t seen it as the time zones conspire against it. Now that I have seen it I will be contributing what I can for Tascha just as I did for the guy that had hois home burnt down, Shumano and the others (don’t forget TSR!).

I ca nsee that there might be others badly hit in the credit crunch but generally I think those of us that are still here from the original friendly tribe are still givers and there are others too that have joined since. In the main perhaps the percentage is not so high as previously though.

Chip
I did not see the OP. I go with what Julian posted. I will be helping out.
