Has it been a year already, how much did your Health care premiums go up?

Not by much. But the company prey much told us to use the Saver option with the higher deductible as it is cheaper for them. The CEO himself and some EVP’s said that what they was using. Problem is my deductible is 4k and I don’t get to spend that much even with my HSA contribution. It sucks.

My deductible is 4k and family is 6k. My wife’s is also 4k and we can’t be on the same plan even though we work for the same company. This is the same cost as last year. With this plan, they also dump 1k into our HSA each year.

Actually my company also put 1k into my HSA yearly, forgot about it. Its a shame you cant share a coverage with your wife.

You don’t have to have insurance.

You don’t have to have insurance. //

Yes"I" do…

I don’t mean to pry, and please feel free to not answer, but why?

No problem. I’m not rich, by any stretch, in fact working again since I started a family late in life. The birth of my twins cost over a million dollars, complications with my wife, and they were 7 week preemies. It would have sent me to bankruptcy, so glad I had good insurance. It would be very irresponsible of me to have it lapse, as there have been several years since that time, that it would have wiped me out. I feel so bad for folks that are just ordinary folks like me, who are forced into bankruptcy because of medical reasons.

The way that you worded your previous post, I thought there was a reason why you, specifically, needed to have insurance.

Is there any way that you could get a job that covers the insurance for you and your family?

From nil to nil…again.

I’m so looking forward to retirement and capitalizing on that dual citizenship from 10 years ago…

Real Estate still going nuts in Sydney/Bondi area?

Monty (sorry for thread derail)

Yeah, c’mon down. Bring your diseases and advancing decrepitude. We’ll look after you.

Sydney real estate prices are off their peaks almost everywhere. About 9% on average, actually more in Bondi (avg for house just over $2m down from 2.5).

A tip, though, if you are going to play at being a citizen. Bondi is the favourite part of Sydney for tourists. It comes in at about 75th for locals. It’s nice enough, but full of Kiwis, and there’s a threatened invasion of Americans.

Mine’s all free. It comes out of general taxation.

Yay - The UK rocks!!
