Just got my annual notice about changes in my plan, no changes. It did however go up 2% this year, and of all the plans available, they went up an average of 2.4%. So not too bad, a little higher than the inflation rate overall. I’m on a Blue Cross Cadillac plan, so it is a drop in the bucket to what I actually pay, over $2.4k a month for my family of 5…I will get about a $300 a month break in a couple years when ii can get on medicare though, so got that going for me…
What did everyone else get as their increases(doubt anyones went down, but maybe?) Same plans for comparisons sake, and any changes? I do see that I have a 1 million lifetime benefit attached to my plan, had thought that was thrown out with the pre existing conditions, are those both gone now too??
Better? You feeling ok today? Get out of the wrong side of the bed? Bad nights sleep? Work got you down? Scratchy throat? Bad time of the month for the Mrs.? (-;

Did the premium go up? yes, 2% like I said
Did the deductible go up? No, as I said, nothing changed, so apples to apples comparison
Did your contribution go up? Or did your company eat the increase? I’m retired and responsible for my own premiums…
And screw me and my choice of words, I will edit once again…

Don’t some of us prefer odd Capitalization, and your, you’r who cares reeds the same… Also its not Health insurance, its Sick Insurance. You use it when your sick not cause your Healthy.
My company just went from Cigna to Aetna at the beginning of the year. I had the Cigna insurance for about 5 years and had a good network of doctors. Now I have to go through all the hassle of findiing docs.
The premium is about the same, but the insurance is actually better with a lower deductible. So it works out good.

The Republicans will say their healthcare coverage has improved and they’re premiums went down, and it’s all because the repeal of Obamacare and it’s all owed to Trump.
The Democrats will say their premiums went up, their deductible went up and they have less coverage so bring back Obamacare.
A few years ago we had an employee get cancer. After a month, had to stop working. We kept him on the health plan as an employee. Wouldn’t have been able to afford health care once he stopped working. Passed away 6 months later.
Next year during health care renewal, our premium went up 23%. They said the cost of the employee was over $2 million (was only out of the hospital 5 days of the 6-7 months he had cancer) so the health care provider was increasing the rate. We explained it was a one off, guy got cancer. Health care provider doesn’t care, they just look at the medical expenses. And they said, even if we go back to our normal level of medical usage, the rate will never go back down to where we were before the cancer issue.
ever since heath insurance became “affordable” my premiums have increased 20-25% year after year, but my deductible has been going up as well to help offset that cost. wait a minute…

Similar story for me. My costs keep going up up up! My copays start at like $60 and go up from there. It is getting so bad that I don’t go to the doctor unless I feel like I am about to die and I get pissed at my wife and kids if they say they need to go to the doctor (that scratch? You didn’t even hit an artery!) My employer just dropped the all-in HMO plan I was on so now there are only High deductible plans. So I have to spend a ton of money before any insurance even kicks in. It is such crap. I am so jealous of my brother and his family who have been on military/government plans their whole adult life.
Open enrollment isn’t until the beginning of November. I won’t find out the changes until some time in October.
2019 was pretty uneventful. I think premium slightly increased, deductible stayed the same. This year they decreased the benefits under the plan. We got PT visits capped to a low number, from unlimited and a couple other changes like that.
Not by much. But the company prey much told us to use the Saver option with the higher deductible as it is cheaper for them. The CEO himself and some EVP’s said that what they was using. Problem is my deductible is 4k and I don’t get to spend that much even with my HSA contribution. It sucks.
Receiving notices in May/June? Open enrollment in late fall. I thought these notices went out later in the summer. //
I guess it is on fiscal year we get these, I just got mine last week, but seem others get them later on…
And for the rest, dont get me wrong, I hate my insurance bill and all my deductibles. I so want our medicine to be nationalized, I will save a fortune, because I’m paying for a lot of people without insurance right now. That’s what cadalliac plans do, make up for the emergency room plan that 30+ million people are on. So I figure if it got nationalized, my tax portion to support it, would be probably 1/2 of what I pay now. But who knows, they would probably fuck that one up too…It is just so depressing to have to choose between finances and your and your families health…That is the big envy I have on all the countries that have figured that equation out…

My deductible is 4k and family is 6k. My wife’s is also 4k and we can’t be on the same plan even though we work for the same company. This is the same cost as last year. With this plan, they also dump 1k into our HSA each year.
