Has Dan left ST completely?

I know Dan sold ST a while ago, but recently I have seen no articles or forum post comments from him anymore or I must have missed them completely.

But if he left ST a front page ‘thank you’ article should be in place (even if he wished not).

You can look up his forum posting history. He posted three days ago. Still here.

He hates the new forum architecture so he left

He’s posting in the LR, yo.

If Dan ever decides he wants to hang his writing hat up, it wouldn’t be an Irish goodbye. Wouldn’t stand for it. Wouldn’t be prudent.

That was supposed to be pink. I just don’t know how to do that here.

Well you would have done on the old forum…

I was thinking the same thing…where has slowman dissappeared to…or maybe he went off grid bike packing for a month (not a bad idea either) !!!

If you read the main sub forum, the LR, you would know that you can post in pink using some “simple” html commands. Unfortunately the search function is so poor I can not find the @E_DUB post with the code.

last i heard he was spotted in san diego unshaven getting asked to leave the local bike shop. something about top tube, crank length and stem height golden ratio in this kind of intensely paranoid chatter. talk it was beautiful mind or da vinci code level shit. hope he is doing good.

After the last discussion on tyres apparently he was feeling a bit deflated.

i’m here. this answer is going to be too long, but i’m building a little expedition truck, starting with cab & chassis and the rest myself. i welded up the subframe and am just completing the living quarters, which is all out of carbon fiber and epoxy resin. i’m getting ready for paint and have a new air compressor showing up today. i’ve spent the last 3 days rewiring the workshop and guest house for the compressor, an on-demand water heater and a minisplit heat pump. last week i had to take a break from all of this and spend 3 days putting in a heat pump in the main house. as i am doing all of this myself, and am doing it all this fall, i’m out of commission on just about everything else. i stopped all training about a month ago. and reading the main forum. but i just did my first return swim today and will swim or ride tomorrow. am publishing an article about wildflower on the main page this afternoon. so, returning slowly to normal.

Will you be at Wildflower?

And man, I’d love to see a full blown article on this expedition truck.

Not to mention an article on your stay in Girona/Banyoles

(I’ll be there next year. Sea Otter Europe is the week after IMWC Nice, so will head up the coast and really looking forward to it)

i will be at wildflower. already have my camping spot. already have my expo booth. as to the expedition truck, it’s a budget version. semi-budget. it’s not a big Man or Fuso with super singles. it’s a 2002 ford f250 superduty, 7.3 diesel 4x4, but it’s a project for sure. i’m figuring out my solar/electric now, maybe buy my stuff on black friday.

See you there

Will be in a NV200 that I’ll be going to quite a few expos in 2025 (20+ tri, gravel, Sea Otter, BWR expos). No serious conversion efforts, but good for short term camping.
