Maybe its me, I think you would have better luck talking to the volunteers:
- they are into triathlons,
- they are giving an not just completely into themselves.
Good Luck.

Not “at” a triathlon, but a girl at the pool who does triathlons.
However, it started in a department store, not at the pool or a race. Seems people (myself included) aren’t in the mood for romance when training or competing.
I get bummed if I’m at a tri that is out of town and then meet some girl who I might want to date but she’s half way across the country. Guess next season I might do more local tris.
BTW, I’m not talking about “hooking up” and I’m talking about a worthwhile serious relationship.
Yep. Never mind halfway across the country, try different continent as in England and Vancouver! We met up at IM Brazil 2004 which we both raced and have been travelling across the pond 3 times a year to date.
Wow. I thought Denver - Washington DC was tough.
Yes. However, she turned out to be married, something that was only made known to me much, much later! That kinda sucked.
I met my fiance at the New York City Triathlon in 2003 (we were both racing). We still debate whether our relationship is meaningful, but that is neither here nor there.
no, but i met triathlon on a date. i agreed to go for a bike ride and later found out my MTB wouldnt cut it. i bought a road bike specifically for the ‘date ride’ the next weekend. that was 3 years ago, the rest is history, including the girl. (she is a member of my tri club and very nice, but we only lasted 2 months or so)
The Disney marathon last January was my first date with my girlfriend. She had a sore knee after doing the half the day before so I paced her along and we spent most of the time talking about triathlons. Now she volunteers at every race that I do (when she’s not racing as well).
Races were the perfect place for me to find someone who gets my crazy.

i agree aside from the labs and yardwork parts.
I do Hartford to D.C. which is better than Denver to D.C.
Although, if I was dating someone who lived in Colorado I might move there.
Now England to Canada…geez…have they built a bridge joining those two yet?
I can’t believe he hasn’t jumped onto this one yet but Spindogg met his wife at a tri a few years back (I think they both won the race that day or something close to it). I suppose that’s about as serious of a relationship as you could ask for!
Married the girl from lane 2 at my first triathlon swim lesson 6 years ago and did IMC with her in 05 and are both doing it again in 07.
and we are still happily married.
and each other’s favourite training partner.

My tri club has had at least two weddings occur after people met at a club party or training event.

Tim Deboom met Nicole at WC’s in Cancun. (I think it was Cancun)
They were sitting next to each other on the plane.

I’m sick of dating superficial girls who may be hot
take a look at this post sometime in the future after you’ve been married a dozen or so years, have a huge mortgage and a boatload of kids. let us know what you think.
I have asked Austin79 to marry me. I am hopeful of a spring wedding with flowers and such.
She has yet to say yes but I know she will.
Just have to figure out what to tell my current bride.
yea, I was going to mention John but was not sure he wanted it public…![]()
