Sad but true. The suggested pork in the stimulus has been outrageous and Obama’s recent choices just suck. Take a look at this stuff:
• A $246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy motion picture film.
• $650 million for the digital television converter box coupon program.
• $88 million for the Coast Guard to design a new polar icebreaker (arctic ship).
• $448 million for constructing the Department of Homeland Security headquarters.
• $248 million for furniture at the new Homeland Security headquarters.
Yep. So far, the Republicans are not supporting the bill, but the sad part is that they will get Republican support by ADDING more stuff to the bill, not by taking anything meaningful out of it. Party labels are a veneer. Under the surface, they are all members of the “it’s my turn at the trough” party.
I love how a guy that ran on “Change” has done nothing but appoint more of the same. Obama is lucky that it would be near impossible to do worse than the last guy in office. So long as he doesn’t take a crap on the constitution, he will have a successful presidency.
I am just disappointed that he is already breaking campaign promises.

Didn’t we go through this 8 years ago? Some guy talked about returning honor to the White House and promptly had an Iran-Contra reunion.

Honest question here, if I had done the things that Daschle had done, would I have gone to jail or been in huge trouble?
Kind of makes Sara Palin look more attractive at this point.

Can’t we just wait five more years on global warming to do its job and then we won’t need that polar icebreaker?
