Happy Easter guys

-Standard day in here at Bikesport. Sitting here working on bikes and writing projects.

Actually got some sleep last night for the first time in literally weeks. No line at Starbuck’s this morning.

We had an enormous birthday party for my climbing partner Rasa Poorman last night. Huge. Rented out a restaurant and imported a band. Big fun.

Beyond that our world revolves around getting these bikes here and getting them built. I am headed to Hawaii Wednesday for the Olympic Trials (I am working for one of the athletes on bike fit and mechanics) but I honestly would rather just stay here and work with customers. It is an honor to be asked and flown out there to do it though, and important to the athlete. Besides, the U.S. needs to win a medal in Triathlon in Athens.

Happy Easter to you as well, although it can’t be too fun working. Although, if I was working I could have dodged dinner at my mother’s(Note to Self…)

I hope you have a good trip to Hawaii(can you have a bad trip to Hawaii?)

Don’t eat too many chocolate bunnies.

Tom, Happy Easter to you too. Sounds like you had a good one last night and a trip to Hawaii (even a working one) is a good move. From your later post it sounds like you need to get out of the shop for a few days, you sound a little cheesed off. The change in locale will bring a freshness to the task and maybe you can play your part in the next step toward getting a medal for the US in Athens (just as long as it doesn’t come at the expense of a GB medal, eh ;P).

Have a couple of mac nuts for me and come back with an editorial that makes me feel as if I went.

Happy Holidays!

Tom,

Sunday 4/18 in Waikiki promises to be fun. AG tri in the morning, US Olympic tri team trials in the afternoon, Sunset on the Beach (free big screen movies on the beach) in the evening. Oh yeh, and Kids tri on Saturday - even my 5 year is doing here first tri.

I shall look out for you Tom - I am a 40-44 AG’er with “hairy legs”, with an aussie accent.

Aloha, Mark

I wish I could do the race too! That would be cool. I’m looking forward to watching the pros. Super cool. It is even cooler having a bike in the race.

I had a great Easter. I fine 12 mile run. Temp in the low 40s. We had an Easter egg hunt for the 12 kids. I ate to much ham and cake. Tomorrow recertify lifeguard classes start for a week in the pool. Yesterday I put together my new road bike. A Fort Thron frame with my old group. The weather on the St. Lawerence river is getting warmer. Most of the ice is gone .I do love this time of year.
Happy Easter to all.
The dirtball

Happy Easter Tom (and everyone else). I’ve had a great day! A 70 minute run, then a BBQ over in Marin with a bunch of triathletes and one bike racer. Total tri geek talk amidst the eating of burgers, chicken, pasta salad, birthday cake and margaritas. Some folks went for a run on Mt. Tam, others sat in the hot tub. Awesome day!

Hey Tom,
Can’t believe I’m going to be only a couple of islands away and won’t get a chance to meet ya. Wish we were going over to observe and cheer the Honolulu Triathlon and Olympic Trials, but we have an event here on the Big Island that we have to put on (shucks!!). Saw Joanna Zieger in the Kona pool this morning and have had the Canadian team on island for a while. (Peter Reid has been here also). Barb Lindquist is staying at my cousin’s house in Honolulu (I think). The course they’ve laid out is really fun, the bike has a killer hill in it and wind could be a factor, depending on the day. The run is flat and fast and finishes in the middle of Waikiki. Maybe I’ll get to run into you in Kona in October?

Happy Easter to you and all of my buddies on Slowtwitch (especially you Dan). Already ate the Peeps the Peaster Bunny brought me, planted tomatoes, cooking lamb chops and spicy potato chunks for the football/rugby boys for dinner. It’s been a grey, drizzly day in Kona but always enjoyable.

Happy Easter to you and everyone else.

Guys, according to my Inside Tri calender, Easter Monday is only a Bank (National) Holiday in Canada. We in UK have Good Friday and Easter Monday as holidays, what do you get in the US?

It depends on your employer. At my law firm–neither, but we make up for it later in the year.

Cathy, I dread to think what “we make up for it later in the year.” means! Probably nothing more sinister than an extra holiday to those in the North, I hope '-)

If it makes you feel better, i am studying on 4 hours of sleep for what shall be the worst exam in 3 years of university so far :stuck_out_tongue:

Although…not tired yet…which is great! I swear that this university is the only institution in canada that does not get easter monday off…we get an hour off in the morning I think…same as rememberance day…it’s crap.

I hate to say it…but i think that my boy simon is gonna take it again  There is always those shiny silver and bronze ones though for the usa and britain to win…hehehe

Harsh final words Kev, but if Tim Don gets off the bike with the first pack you could be looking at a shiny silver for GB, or a repeat of Alphaville ( ain’t many can out run Greg Bennett but Simon is one)

Correct…we get four days over the Thanksgiving weekend in November.

Not a bad guess (for an Englishman)! We only have May Day and August Bank Holiday before Christmas comes around, must be that protestant work ethic thingie, eh?
