I saw a small bit of an interview with Jesse, the nut cutter, Jackson last night at one of the balls. The guy interviewing him totally ignored that fact that a couple of months ago, JJ wanted to cut O’s nuts off.
I think what makes me want to puke the most, and also scares the living shit out of me, is how the media is fawning all over O. They all are walking around with big ole woodys and just can’t control their lovefest.
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t the press supposed to be objective. Isn’t the whole reason that there are constitutional protections for the press is because they are supposed to be a sort of checks and balance against the government.
I understand that I am being naive, but their behavior still chaps my ass.
I don’t think it is any different than the media not asking the right questions before Iraq was invaded either. The media is not about in-depth reporting anymore. it is simply about who can get the most ratings and put up the story (whether true or not) the fastest.
Present day media generally speaking is a joke.
Give it time. The media will pounce as soon as they get a big juicy nugget. But remember, it will have to be a real and substantive nugget because the public, for now, is really pulling for Obama and will react badly to petty crap from the press.
Heck the media has been a joke for years. That is why all real intellectual debate and absolute truth seeking now only occurs in anonymous internet chat groups!

I guess it’s only pure unbiased journalism if every interviewer in every interview asks the Reverend Jackson about the nuts comment. Just like every unbiased journalism who ever interviews Governor Palin at any time, past or future, should ask about her bogus “thanks but no thanks” claim, or the former President Bush about his capturing Bin Laden “dead or alive” pledge, or the yellowcake claim.
Because everything else should come secondary to drama.

Can’t you just let the country have this moment in history for a few days? If Obama is not getting raked over the coals within the next 3 months, THEN come bitch about the “liberal media.” For now, this is a momentous time in our country’s history. The love-fest was inevitable. It’s annoying, but certainly not unexpected. I’ll be interested to see how Obama’s first big fuck up is covered.

Can’t you just let the country have this moment in history for a few days? This post has nothing to do with the big O. I am trying to illustrate my disgust with the media as it relates to JJ in particular, and the medias obligations as a whole. Also I am amazed, although I shouldn’t be, at just how big a fucking hypocrite the nut cutter is. You’d think he would have not shown his face. But then again, he probably knew that nobody in the press would try to hold his feet to the fire.
Jesse Jackson is irrelevant. Don’t waste your energy on him or on the media’s coverage (or lack thereof) of him.
